8 SWS SoSe 2025 #125120201

Do. 09:15 bis 16:45 · wöch.

Description

The culture of urban planning varies from place to place, which is a reason why cities have distinct identities and atmospheres. Each city typically has its own parameters and design principles that must be analyzed in order to further develop them for enhancing urban environments while preserving their unique local qualities. This course provides students with a comprehensive framework for urban planning by combining theoretical foundations, practical application, and scenario-based decision-making.By systematically analyzing the urban context, students will identify decisive aspects that need to be addressed within the project. These aspects will serve as the evaluation criteria for subsequent decision-making processes. Using scenario planning as a methodological tool, students will be guided through structured decision-making processes to develop planning strategies. In an interactive class setting, students will engage in a simulated design competition process. They will organize a jury session, presenting and defending their planning proposals. This final evaluation stage focuses on critically assessing design solutions and refine the ability to communicate urban planning strategies effectively.
